Torian Grant is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Houston – Clear Lake. He takes a well-rounded, warm approach to each client, helping them to heal through their presenting issues in his empathic but straight-to-the-point style of therapy.
Drawing from his own deep, been-there experiences of his life, Torian knows how quickly the pitfalls of anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD can overtake an individual and entrap them to where the darkness can seem like it will be there forever; like there’s no possible way out of their struggles. He has gone through his own trials with these mental ailments, as well as struggles with self-worth, anger and other issues that are especially prevalent with men today. Using a versatile approach to his counseling, Torian specializes in person-centered therapy (PCT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) to help his clients break through. He believes that a person should be in the driver’s seat of their own healing journey, but he also believes that guidance with problem-solving skills and perspective shifts are necessary to the process.
A Houston boy through and through, Torian is adept at using gems from his own past to help clients be more aware of what their current issues are rooted in and where they come from. He considers this work as the most purposeful he’s ever done, and he is committed to helping people who currently are where he’s been navigate their life challenges and personal relationships so that growth can be fostered in their lives.
