Hello there! I'm Kimberley Washington, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified School Counselor, devoted Mother, Wife, and seasoned Educator with over two decades of experience. My passion lies in helping individuals, families, and couples - recognize, maintain, and achieve emotional wellness. In the therapy setting, I work with adults only.
Embracing Life's Journey:
Life presents us with daily challenges, and therapy is the process of navigating these challenges while developing positive thinking and coping skills to make our journey more fulfilling. While we may not control all the events that happen to us, we have the power to choose not to be defined by them. Through the therapeutic process, we'll work together to create a safe space for you and your loved ones, equipping you with the skills needed to restore stability and balance to your life. I'm here to support you as something in your life journey has led you to seek assistance, insight, and guidance, and I am genuinely grateful to assist you in managing your emotions.
A Personalized Approach to Healing:
As an integrative therapist, I tailor my counseling approaches to your unique needs and goals. My toolkit includes a wide range of counseling techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on altering thoughts, feelings, and actions; Solution Focused Therapy, emphasizing your present and future circumstances and goals; and Person-Centered Therapy, grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity to fulfill their own potential. Whether you are an individual seeking guidance, a family facing challenges, or a couple seeking to strengthen your bond, we'll identify the approaches that best suit your current needs.
Creating a Judgment-Free Zone:
My goal as your therapist is to provide a judgment-free environment where you can express yourself openly. I specialize in addressing various concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, anger management, stress management, marital issues, and family relationships.
Education and Experience:
I earned my Master's degree in Counseling and Education from Prairie View A&M University in 2010, building upon my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Women's University in 2000. With over 20 years as an educator, school counselor, and clinical therapist, my academic journey and professional experiences have uniquely prepared me to guide clients toward conscious wellness.
Join Me on This Journey:
I'm excited about the opportunity to work with you and support you on your path to emotional wellness. Whether you're an individual, a family, or a couple, your journey toward healing and personal growth begins here, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
