John Davis is a passionate and empathetic student counselor currently pursuing his Master’s of Education in Counseling and Development at Lamar University, with graduation anticipated in Summer 2025. With over a decade of experience as an educator, John has cultivated a wide range of transferable skills that have helped him foster meaningful, supportive, and empowering relationships with clients.
Driven by a deep commitment to service, John has been actively involved in various community initiatives. He has volunteered with Cy-Fair Helping Hands, led mentorship groups for young men navigating the transition into adulthood, and participated in numerous church outreach events focused on feeding the hungry and supporting the homeless. His work reflects a dedication to helping others thrive.
When asked why mental health matters to him, John shared, "I've witnessed firsthand the impact that trauma and poor mental health can have—not just on individuals, but on entire communities of family and friends. I've also seen the incredible restoration that’s possible when people prioritize their mental well-being. My genuine desire is to be a vessel for those ready to take the next step toward healing."
In his free time, John enjoys visiting his hometown of New Orleans, reading, playing basketball, and spending quality time with family and friends.
