Chelseyah is a graduate of Texas Tech University Psychology program, with a minor in Health Professions and University of Texas at San Antonion-Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program.
Chelseyah has experience being a program developer, for at-risk youth and student mentor; she also has experience in community centers and non-profit agencies. Chelseyah’s passion and professional experience consists of working with marginalized populations experiencing trauma and mental health diagnoses. The populations that she has the most experience with are ethnic minorities and the LGBTQIA community.
Chelseyah’s therapeutic orientation is person-centered, trauma-informed, and existential. She believes that taking an eclectic approach allows for the client to lead their treatment while she acting as a guide to their recovery. Chelseyah follows the approach that we can direct our own growth and she creates a calming and safe environment to do so. By moving at the client’s pace, they’re able to celebrate the wins and stumbles in counseling. Chelseyah is a multi-culturally sensitive counselor who aims to make the counseling experience for minority groups a positive experience in exploring mental health and wellness.
