Bobby is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Graduate of Prairie View A&M with a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Minor in Psychology.
Bobby grew up in a small town where the population was under a thousand people at that time. After graduating from high school and navigating through college he decided to move to Houston in 2000. As a youth he has always felt the need to help others in any capacity he could. “Folks would always tell me their stuff without me asking.” Therefore, this led Bobby to continue his education and to became licensed so that he could help professionally.
He is experienced with working with At Risk Youth and their families. Bobby has experience working with adults too. Bobby has worked with individuals in the outpatient and inpatient levels of care within the managed health care system. He is knowledgeable in various areas that consists of adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, and day to day life stressors.
As a clinician, he seeks to understand the challenges that individuals might be faced with in order to help them navigate through this phase of their life. Bobby’s ultimate goal is to help the individual to gain control and build confidence within themselves. He helps them to identify the skills and strength that one has already learned to actively use them in their situation. Some of Bobby’s counseling approach consists of solution focused, person centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Based on the client’s presentation and the need for counseling, the clinical approach would be determined. This will be helpful in developing feedback and understanding of how the counseling process will be conducted
