Alaina approaches therapy in a way in which the therapist’s works with the client to identify obstacles and create effective strategies for working towards their goals. Alaina encourages her clients to be their best self. She believes that empathy + compassion is key to a successful therapeutic relationship. She believes in creativity within the therapeutic process with her clients and often conducts therapeutic sessions through canvas painting, drawing, mindfulness meditation incorporating music, or other creative approaches. Alaina understands that life is difficult, and it is important to practice self-care.
Alaina’s professional experience includes working in non-profit agencies and organizations. Alaina specializes in working with clients with mental health diagnoses such as Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar 1 & 2, Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder, as well as Phase of Life, Self-Esteem Issues, Grief, Relational Issues, Substance Abuse and more. Alaina has also participated in numerous clinical trainings and certified in Mental Health First Aid, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Gottman Method Level 1 for Couples.
Alaina received her Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University in 2016 and her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Baptist University in 2020. She is currently licensed in the state of Texas as an LPC.
